Tamkeen — A Job Board Built for the Algerian Market Copy

Problem :
Algeria's job market had existing platforms — Emploitic and EmploiPartner — but both suffered from the same blind spot: they catered almost exclusively to tech, IT, and commercial roles. Healthcare professionals, tradespeople, civil engineers, finance workers, freelancers, and dozens of other professional categories were left without a dedicated channel.
At the same time, Algeria's payment infrastructure made it impossible to replicate standard subscription models used by international platforms. Any monetization system had to be designed around how Algerians actually pay — CCP, BaridiMob, bank transfers, and the Edahabia card.
The challenge was to design an MVP that addressed both gaps: broader industry coverage and a payment experience that actually worked for the market.

Solution :
A dual-sided mobile platform designed from the ground up for both job seekers and employers — with two completely separate experiences, each with its own flows, dashboards, and logic.
For job seekers:
A clean discovery experience with category-based filtering across a wide range of industries — not just IT. Job seekers can search, filter, save jobs for later, track application status through a dedicated pipeline, and build a complete profile covering education, experience, certifications, and skills. A profile completion system with a progress indicator nudges users to complete their profile before applying, improving match quality for both sides.
For employers/recruiters:
A full hiring management experience — post jobs, review applicants, shortlist candidates, and proactively invite candidates to apply directly from profile search. Employers can verify their business by submitting legal documentation (trade license, commercial register, bank statement), which grants them a verified badge — building trust on a platform where professional credibility matters. A subscription model with Free and Premium tiers unlocks access to advanced applicant filtering and full candidate profile data.
Payment system:
Designed a custom payment flow built specifically for Algeria's financial reality — Edahabia card, manual payment via CCP, BaridiMob, and bank transfer. Each method has its own clear flow with proof upload and confirmation, removing the friction that international payment systems would have created.

Challenge :
The biggest design challenge was building trust on both sides of a two-sided marketplace simultaneously. Job seekers needed to trust that the employers were legitimate. Employers needed to trust that candidate data was real and worth paying for. The business verification badge system and the profile completion mechanism were both direct responses to this trust problem — not just feature additions.
The second challenge was the payment experience. Algeria doesn't have a dominant digital payment method the way other markets do. Designing a flow that felt reassuring and familiar across four completely different payment methods — without making it feel fragmented — required careful thinking about hierarchy, reassurance copy, and confirmation states.
Summary :
Tamkeen was an exercise in designing for a real market with real constraints rather than copying what already exists. The platform's value wasn't just in making a job board that looked good — it was in identifying where existing solutions failed and designing specifically around those gaps: underserved industries, local payment methods, and a trust layer that the Algerian market genuinely needed.
The MVP covered both sides of the platform — approximately 100–120 screens across job seeker flows, recruiter flows, verification, subscriptions, and payment — with a consistent design language and a clear purple and white visual identity throughout.
